Marie在上世纪80年代末曾为法国第一版建筑学文摘工作。在巴黎雅典娜广场酒店的设计中，她致力于保留酒店历史，将经典的传统风格与简约时尚的现代风格相糅合，打造独属于巴黎雅典娜广场酒店的独特风格。在设计上，Marie沿用了酒店的传统家具，延续了以18世纪法国路易十五、路易十六到督政府时期为蓝本的传统欧式奢华。她认为，这段时间是法国非常重要的时期。18世纪的法国是当时世界上引领潮流的国家，在这段时期法国各个行业也衍生出了无数知名的手工艺人。所以，她在设计中使用的很多家具和装饰都采用了柔和的曲状支架来展示路易十五时期的经典，同时又将路易十六时期与督政府时期略微严肃却又透着时髦的风格有机的结合在一起。
酒店客房中使用了大量的塔夫绸、丝绸以及金丝刺绣等昂贵的材料和工艺，这源于Marie对丝织品的情有独钟。从丝绸的窗帘、花缎的扶手椅，到条纹羊毛椅、天鹅绒的沙发和脚凳等小家具，色彩的协调搭配使得整体的装饰显得愈发奢华明亮。在色彩的选择上，Marie倾向于让她的设计装饰在保持传统的基础上也能体现现代化，通过色彩明亮的纯色丝织物使装饰更加立体，更像是一幅经典的丝织画卷。酒店的浴室采用了明亮的白色大理石配上灰色的雕刻浴镜，相近的色彩搭配更体现了它的奢华，这也正是Marie理想的效果。Marie通过酒店之前一张督政府时期的操作台萌发的灵感，运用金属和雕刻用的白色大理石设计了酒店浮夸却彰显个性的陈列柜，颇有点缀之意。

Marie used to work for the launch of the first French version of Architectural Digest in the late 1980s France. In the design of Hotel Plaza Athenee Paris， she devoted to make this place welcoming and sophisticated by keeping its historical and traditional side and create an unique style which only belongs to Hotel Plaza Athenee Paris. For this， she wanted to retain the classical furniture， mainly representing the 18th century French. The style of Louis XV， transition， Louis XVI， then Directoire. These periods were very important in France. It was the leading country in creation， and all the trends came from us. We had wonderful craftsmen in every field. Marie did not hesitate to mix the Louis XV style with gentle shapes and curved legs， with the Louis XVI and Directorie style that are stricter and somewhere more modern.
Hotel rooms in use a lot of taffeta， silk and gold embroidery and many other expensive materials and techniques derive the love of fabrics from Marie. She chose several harmonies of colors starting from rich silks for the curtains to which I matched the Damas of the armchairs and shepherdesses to fabrics often striped for the chairs and velvets for the sofas and small furniture such as footstool. It is mainly with the choice of colors that she try to "modernize" her decoration while keeping it classic. By taking the advantage not to use fabrics very flowered but by favoring the bright colors， more current， as well as fabrics with revisited drawings. One finds the modernity of the Hotel in its new bathrooms which she wanted luxurious， very clear in a camaieu of white marbles and gray with sets of mirrors often engraved. She wanted to draw a vanity cabinet in metal and Carrara marble that is inspired by a Directoire console.
One of the special features of the hotel Plaza Athenee is that all the rooms are different， the accessories， the lamps with their shades of silks， the objects and the paintings have been especially found for each room. Marie"s design makes this old palace coruscate new vitality， in contracted modern and traditional charm graceful in luxury.
